The University of Dhaka is the oldest and largest public university in Bangladesh. Founded in 1921, it has produced some of the country’s most notable scholars, scientists, and public figures. The admission process for Dhaka University is highly competitive. All the faculties & departments are divided into five units. The 5 Units are A, B, C, D & E.
A unit is for students from a Science background. B unit is for students from an Arts background. C unit is for students from Business Studies backgrounds. D unit is for all students from all backgrounds. And finally E unit is for those who are interested in Fine Arts.
Every year, more than 200,000 students sit for the DU admission tests, which are held in early August. Only about 10,000 of these students are selected for admission to the university.
Dhaka University A Unit Admission Requirements:
There are 1795 seats in A Unit. To get one of those, you have to appear for the admission test. To be eligible for the admission test, students must have completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent examination with at least a GPA of 3.0. They must also have passed the DU admission test with a minimum score of 60%.
